The 1st Battalion The Liverpool Scottish, The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders served from 3 September 1939 to 13 July 1944 in 165 (Liverpool) Infantry Brigade, the intermediate brigade in 55th (West Lancashire) Infantry Division. On 14 July 1944 it was reassigned to 199 Infantry Brigade (renumbered 166 Infantry Brigade on 15 August 1944), still serving in 55th Infantry Division. The battalion served in the United Kingdom, and was posted from 24 July 1944 to 28 June 1945 to North Ireland District. |
